THE “hEAR” DRUM
You will not "hear" this on the first read. You will casually, with religious presumption, think something like "Oh ya, I already know all this. Besides, who are you to tell me?!" This is a natural reaction of most people.
The truth is you have heard these things before, but you have never "heard" them (Mt.13:14). You can now choose to focus on being offended by this manner of confrontation or focus on learning to "hear" so you can discover the phenomenal reward (Jn.8:43, 47, 10:3/ Lk.10:24/ Mt.11:15/ Lk.8:21/ Job 42:5).
What is required here is for you to bring forth something from your past. It has become lost. Apathy, cynicism and routine have buried your childlike spirit. God's requirement to "hear" the secret mystery "locked up" in Jesus is that you become like a child (Rom.16:25/Mt.18:3/ Mt.11:25). This is not a cute little metaphor. You will never receive revelation unless you can become like a child.

As a little peanut you had a beautiful sense of wonder. The clouds, birds and simple things captured your fascination not for moments but years. You had no preconceptions and were not set in any ways. These days the things of God have become "old hat". The world has smacked you around and filled you with all manner of unbelief and cynicism. The religious hype of Sunday morning is about as weighty as the cartoons of Saturday morning. There is a crest of dust on all matters of life.

So what I'm saying you to you, my friend, and I am your friend to tell you this, is that you must do the "hardest work" you've ever done in life (Jn.6:27,29). What’s so beautiful here is that if you find a HeArt, things become an adventure not religious drudgery (1 Cor.2:9)!
You wanna “job” ? You want ‘work’? Get these words deep within you. Stop, drop and ponder! Get beyond the attitudes, voices and feelings that rise up against this drumbeat. Calling all militants! (and emotional mutants.) HOPE> PURPOSE> HEALING> just ahead!
Snatch your heart from the fires of despair! This world is out to kill your spirit and settle for nothing less (Jn.10:10). Even your closest “friends” or relatives can become like kamikaze pilots attacking your ship. This is no game. This is no joke. This is life or death and heaven or hell.

So many things come flying at you at the precise moment you begin to reach back to those childhood senses. Why? Demons are not medieval fables. There are personalities of darkness assigned to pounce on your every move towards escape! This is no scare tactic. This is what is happening in the realm of which you cannot "see" (Eph.2:2,6:12).
When you begin to ponder, when you begin to reconsider, to evaluate, to contemplate everything within you and around you cries out "STOP IT! There is nothing at the end of this road but false hope and pretense". That’s up to you! You can be a phony or you can become a son. Whose voice do you think this is?
When you hear the Name of Jesus does it not go in one ear and out the other? You think , "Oh ya I hear you". No. You don't. Your life and attitudes would be completely different if you did. We live in the days when there are scores of people claiming to know the Name of Jesus and have no clue to what they are saying and their lack of God’s reality

proves it.
When people hear the Name, Jesus, the majority think “church, church, church, church, church, church” ….ad infinitum. Maybe you have thoughts of some memory, group or a bad personal experience. Or you think of a moral life style or some kind of religious image that you must maintain. You have no real sense of the Person of God. You will not think of the living Person Jesus because you CANNOT think of Jesus. Something divinely mechanical has to happen. God has to act on your behalf in response to your personal cry (Jn.6:44-45)!
You cannot zap God out of the sky by a man-made prayer formula. The faculty required to “reason” with God, the HEART, has become dysfunctional (Is.1:18/ Mt.13:14ff). It is full of a heavy thicket and preventing you from getting to The River; the Fountain; the Stream; the Life (Jer.17:13). Jesus is not an English, German or Spanish word. He is the Word of God (Jn.1:1). To understand His Name one must understand His language (Heb.5:11/Rm.10:17). He cannot be defined using English, or any other, grammar.
There are no thoughts you can find in your mind to relate to God (Rm.3:11). It all must come from God (Is.55:8ff). Jesus says “Ask and you shall receive…” (Mt.7:7). God yearns to grant the personal revelation of His mystery in Christ to a humble man (Isaiah 30:18/ Mt.11:25/ Rm.16:25/ Eph.3:3). There is no religion that can reach through the heavens. No human actions can move God. Good works won't cut it (Is.64:6). It’s about having a heart to Heart! God is NOT waiting for you to do some thing. God is waiting for YOU! How do you

get to God? YOU go to God!
God speaks the language of the Spirit (Jn.6:63). He dwells in the Spirit. You and I dwell in the realm of the flesh. Thus, you must become a reborn spirit (Jn.4:24/1 Cor.2:11/Jn.3:3). No short cuts, kind of, or almost. God wants to give you everything you need but He "hides" Himself from the proud (Mt.11:25/James 4:6). Are you proud of your pride or determined to be a child? You will never understand God through any grappling of your mind (Rm.8:7/1 Cor.2:11/Pr. 9:10). It’s all about HEART!!! You must go back... to go on! The past holds your future. You must become nothing to find everything (Jn.12:25)!
Think about it dude (dudette). You can actually KNOW God and experience ETERNAL LIFE (Jn.17:3/7:38)! You do not have to become some creepy religious entity or hang out at some churchy la la land. This stuff is awesome and real! If you can just learn to be still (Ps.46:10). It’s not enough to just think about this. Talk To Him, not AT Him. Pour out your heart.
This is the simplest and easiest thing, or the most difficult (Mt.11:30/Heb.11:6)! It’s up to YOU. Can you quiet every pour of your body and believe you will behold the Son (Jn.11:40, 6:40)? Meditate on the astronomical work of love that One God-man did for you on the cross! What kind of Person must He be? Jesus is multi-dimensional! There is an expanse of height, depth, width, breath and

length to His way of dealing with you (Eph.3:18).
In Greek the word for "name" is onami which means "Character" (Jn.17:6, 26). To know His Name, is not to invoke some kind of magical incantation that summons down ‘Pentecostal’ vibrations. To learn to speak His Name requires much HEART. It involves revelation of His Character (ibid.). Without revelation these letters, J E S U S, merely make up a common title used by many men in Mexico or Central America.
If you are willing to do the “work” you will find the treasure beyond any worth of this world but, of course, you won't do this (Jn.7:17)! You are given a divine invitation by God Himself (Jn.7:37/ Rev.22:17)! Prove me wrong and God right! Find the only life worth living! Jesus says "COME TO ME..." (Jn.7:37ff)!
So why would I write all of this if I don't think you will understand? Because we love you!
Jesus says "… you will keep on hearing, but will not understand; you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive; … for the heart of this people has become dull… otherwise they …. would hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and return, and I would heal” (Mt.13:14).

The clincher for me was where Jesus says "Come to Me...and LEARN from Me" (Mt.11:29). How does one "learn" from an invisible Being? Jesus says the true church are those who learn the things of spirit and truth (not pretense and pomp) (Jn.4:24). Does such a work of the heart not require such things of which no man can describe? Silence, meditation, talking TO God are things of spirit and truth. In this mega-hype culture it can be impossible to force yourself into a stillness of heart. You must do the impossible! Start meditating on the Book of Psalms and the Gospel of John. Wherever you are for five or fifteen minutes. It will seem awkward at first. You will find many voices in your head and feelings of anxiety. You've got to LEARN to silence them. Solitude is essential!
You will find that the reaction by others to this quest, to go directly to Jesus, is treated with presumption; "Oh, of course. I know all that already". Men can work eight hours a day but are too lazy of heart to consider that God's love is of such mysterious and magnificent proportions so as to require a work of individual heart far beyond any passive prayer (Jn.6:27,29). Thus they fall short of His divine Presence. This is the essence of salvation! It was prophecied hundreds of years ago (Jer.31:33-34/Ez.36:26).
This is not the "salvation" of today. Rather it is the unbiblical "accept Christ" prayer-formula that produces plastic "Christians". McDonald's Christianity would have you believe that all you have to do is drive up to the "service" window of any preachers castle and get the salvation-to-go order of repeating a one-time prayer. As if the same generic prayer written for all to parrot has anything to do with the personal heart cry which God requires (Ps.51:17). Like everything in the American culture it is "processed" into an articial and refined response so as to make everyone the same and fit perfectly into their system about Christ.
The brethren in Corinth or Ephesus were the true church who lived as those "set apart" to love Christ rather than this world (1 Jn.2:14ff/Consider Acts 5:32). Luke explains that what Jesus "began to do and teach" in bodily form He now continues in His people in His risen state (Acts 1:1). Their identity was not in an affliation with a particular doctrine, or trying to make this world a better place, but in the power they beheld in their obedient lives looking for the city which is to come . They were uneducated and unlearned but their lives demonstrated that they had actually been with the living Jesus ( Acts 4:13).
Jesus revealed the world is full of religious deception; many "churches", cults and religions (Matt.24). How will you know the truth? Will you learn from a man or go to God? More than ever before, my friend, you must not just go along with everyone. The majority is wrong (Mt.7:13). Don't look at what men SAY. Tons of people claim to be an authority because they have a website or claim to have a following. Like armchair quarterbacks who never played a down of football yet pretend to know what's wrong. Look at their LIVES! Do they just sit around like anyone else claiming to be religious? Or do their lives stand out as a witness? Are they doing something that bears the cross of Christ (Mt.10:38)?
There is nothing wrong with going to a service to try and learn something but watch over your heart (Proverbs 14:23). "...A little leaven levens the whole lump..." (Gal.5:9). Hypocrisy is like toxic waste, it disintegrates sincerity and corrupts anyone with a heart. Don't give yourself over to "church". Learn and go on. You must not settle there. You must keep going. You must get beyond it to learn, build and discover a personal walk with Jesus. We can tell you it is awesome! Do you know His voice? Your life now and your eternity are at stake. This is about your capacity to walk in abundant life or abundant hypocrisy.
For surely there is a true church and is a false church. There is a false christ and a true Christ (2 Cor.11:3-4ff/Mt.24:24,23). Jesus beckons you to come to Him and find the posture of humility to become a disciple and learn directly from Him. His anointing is capable of teaching you all the things (1 Jn.2:27). The idea of God actually coming into your being can only be defined as a mystery (Col.1:27). David said "I have more understanding than all my teachers: for Thy words are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Thy truths" (Ps.119:99ff/read the whole chapter).
Jesus is waiting....If anyone is thirsty!
